The Good and the Bad Of Learn and Master Guitar

Sunday, June 1st, 2008

Just like each beautiful and sunny day has a dark night, all good things under the sun can have a bad side too. It depends on the individual perspective which largely decides whether a particular aspect is good or bad. I have come across a large number of Learn and Master Guitar reviews during the past one week. Most of these reviews are just superficial, written for the sake of writing! So, I decided to try out this instructional package before giving my feedback about this particular product. And believe me, I found it absolutely incredible. I will summarize some of the good and bad features of this program according to my own perspective –

The Good Features: An incredible amount of information has been covered in this program and yet the program does not look crammed. In fact, the information is systematically presented in this comprehensive guitar training instructional package, which is extremely easy to understand.

The 2 strongest features of this program include the 20 professionally produced DVDs and the 5 Jam along CDs.

The 20 professionally produced DVDs of the Learn & Master Guitar program teach the lessons in a step-by-step manner and are the best of those available in similar programs. In addition to numerous lessons on guitar basics, music theory and correct techniques of playing guitar, the DVDs also include lots of songs and guitar licks for the student to play along and practice along with the instructor.

The 5 Jam along CDs provide you with the rare opportunity to jam-along with a band, using the songs that you have mastered in your video lessons and practiced along with your instructor. There are a total of 110 Jam-along tracks which provide slow, medium and fast versions of the same song. The tracks are mixed in such a way that you can lower the volume of the guitar track and practice along with the rest of the band.

This is an excellent way to improve your guitar playing skills. Initially, you can reproduce the guitar lead (in a slow speed when you play along with the guitar track ‘on’), and then slowly proceed to turn the guitar track ‘off’ and play the lead guitar yourself, first at a slow speed, then at medium speed and finally at full speed. So this is how you learn and master guitar at a very fast pace when you use this program.

The program provides you with some of the best guitar licks and songs for practice. In addition to these 2 strong features of this program, you will also get a printed workbook (containing lot more exercises and songs for additional practice), access to an online member’s forum, lifetime membership, lifetime updates and an effective live helpline.

The Bad Features: The major drawback of this program is that it is quite expensive. But considering the superior quality and comprehensive nature of the material provided along with this program, the high price is understandable. Another drawback is the large number of DVDs and CDs that are rather irritating to handle and swap.
